Dois irmãos morreram após serem atingidos por um eucalipto nessa segunda-feira (26) em São João Batista do Glória. Segundo a Polícia Militar, os dois trabalhavam cortando árvores quando uma delas os atingiu.
Ainda conforme a PM, o acidente aconteceu às margens da BR-146, quando Devair Martins Arruda, de 51 anos, e Jamir Martins Arruda, de 49, trabalhavam na poda e no corte de eucaliptos.
Os dois amarraram um cabo de aço no tronco da árvore para que ela fosse puxada e caísse em meio à mata, sem bloquear a rodovia, mas o vento teria ficado mais forte, mudando a direção da árvore no momento da queda.
O Samu foi acionado, mas os irmãos faleceram no local. Os bombeiros retiraram os corpos, que ficaram presos nos galhos e no tronco da árvore. A perícia também foi acionada.
Segundo o Corpo de Bombeiros, as vítimas não usavam nenhum equipamento de segurança.
